Individual Therapy
In-person individual psychotherapy is conducted in person in a private professional setting where client issues and concerns are discussed. Collaboration is used to process difficult emotions, enhance insight, develop coping skills and facilitate healing and wellness.
Art Therapy
Art Therapy uses art as the medium for expressing feelings and emotions. The client/patient does NOT have to be an artist to reap the benefits of art therapy. Art Therapy is not about the product that is developed, it is about the process that is important. Often times when an event is too difficult or hurtful to speak about the use of art allows the emotion to be expressed on paper or canvas where the individual then shares their interpretation of their art work. According to the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) art therapy is defined as “an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of through the creative process, along with applied psychological theory.
